WannaCry was a May 2017 worldwide cyberattack by ransomware cryptoworm which targeted computers running Microsoft Windows by encrypting data and demanding ransom payments in Bitcoin. It propagated through EternalBlue, an exploit in older Windows systems. Petya is a family of encrypting ransomware targeting Microsoft Windows-based systems. All three terms are related to Cyber attacks.
