All three — groundnut, sesamum, and pearl millet — are predominantly rainfed crops. Pearl millet is well adapted to growing areas characterized by drought, low soil fertility, and high temperature. Millet is dryland predominantly. Groundnut is largely grown in rainfed conditions in peninsular India. Sesamum is also a rainfed oilseed crop. All three are kharif crops grown primarily in rain-dependent conditions.
