Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under NRHM/NHM. Its primary objectives are: (1) To promote institutional deliveries by incentivising pregnant women to deliver in health facilities, and (2) To provide monetary assistance/cash incentive to the mother to meet the cost of delivery. Statement 3 (wage loss compensation during pregnancy/confinement) is NOT an objective of JSY — that falls under Maternity Benefit Act or other schemes.
