Hepatitis B and C can be transmitted through tattooing — they survive outside the host and resist normal disinfection, making contaminated tattoo equipment a real risk. HIV can also be transmitted through contaminated tattoo needles (solid-core pins that push ink under skin can carry blood-borne viruses). Chikungunya is transmitted only through mosquito bites, not blood-to-blood contact through tattooing.
