The deployment of IndARC, an underwater moored observatory in a fjord, half way between Norway and the North Pole represents a major milestone in India's scientific endeavours in the Arctic. It is anchored at a depth of 192m and carries state-of-the-art oceanographic sensors, positioned at various depths.
